7 Ways To Convert Your Traffic Into Cash

The KEY is in leveraging on each visitor and making sure you have a monetization strategy in place. Once you get this, you can make any website profitable with a little effort. Here are 7 basic ways in which you can profit from your traffic today:
1. Sell a product/service
First you can sell a product or service to your visitors. This is the best way to cash in from your own product. Usually an e-book or software works the best ?they can be downloaded right away without hassle and shipping charges.
2. Opt-In list
It is crucial you try to convert every visitor of yours to a subscriber of your mailing list. The most important asset that an Internet marketer has is his or her list of subscribers. They define whether you will go far in the online business venture.
3. Viral marketing
You can provide a free product or bonus on your site to be downloaded by your visitors. Usually it’ll be an e-book where people can read from and learn useful information. In this bonus, you include give away rights and urge readers to give it away to anyone they want to.
4. Pay-per-click
In this case, you get paid when your visitors click on ads you place on your site. There are many advertising programs that give you a percentage of the profits based on click through, including Google Adsense, Chitika, Yahoo Publisher Network and Kontera.
When people click on the ads shown from either of these advertising programs, you will earn money. And if your site receives good traffic, these programs alone can bring in huge paychecks to you.
5. Offer an advertising space
Targeted niche websites with high traffic can ‘rent’ a portion of space on their web page to advertisers. For example you can charge 0 per month in advertising fee if your web page is pulling more than 2000 visitors a day. By doing this, you won’t clutter your website with too many ads and spoil the visitor’s experience.
6. Affiliate marketing
If you don’t have your own products for sale yet, you can sell other people’s products instead and receive a commission on every sale. With affiliate marketing, you have an unlimited source of products to sell and you don't need to go through any fulfillment issues after your sales.
7. Pay-per-lead
Instead of earning money from click through, you are paid if your visitors subscribe into other people’s mailing list. Alternatively there are a lot of big companies like Coca-Cola who need surveys to be done, and by referring your visitors to complete surveys, you can also earn good profits from your website.

Change These 2 Things To Increase Your Website Sales

The sad truth is most business websites don’t make money. A large amount of business owners spend thousands and thousands on their website only to have it do nothing. No one emails, no one calls… and more importantly no one buys.
How do we improve that? Here I talk about two huge errors I see with most websites.
Lacking Any Form Of Conversion Process
Most website owners are so concerned with website traffic they forget what to do with it when it arrives. Your website needs to have a clearly defined website conversion process to convert visitors into buyers. Most website owners don’t spend any time thinking about this process.
If your plan is to just have people show up and give you money then you’re in for a shock. In most cases you’re going to have to sell your products and services to the visitor. Don’t like selling? It’s time to get over it.
What’s great about the web (while also limiting us) is no face-to-face selling. This means it’s far less scary and you can put aside your fears of rejection and just do it. If nothing happens at least they won’t be hurting your feelings.
Having a distinct process is the first step to improving your website conversions
.
Lacking A Web Marketing Strategy
This brings us to a bigger problem with most websites… lack of clear strategy. Website conversion is one part of the strategy that’s lacking and the second is generating traffic. Even if your website conversion is incredible it doesn’t help you if you don’t have any visitors.
It’s important to have a way of generating website traffic. These could be things like social media, article marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), video marketing and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. But the point is you need to have a strategy.
Another error (that I’ve made a lot) is to not pick one strategy and follow through with it rather than running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. And this means no strategies you try get any traffic and you give up due to poor results. The best way is to choose a few powerful web marketing strategies and apply them consistently for the next few months.
It’s important to get these first strategies giving you results and then you can select more to add. But don’t throw away what got you that far. You’ll go far if you just learn to keep doing the basics a little bit better.
How your website can make more sales

It’s common to think that website marketing is all about increasing your website traffic or higher rankings in the search engines. It makes sense to me to ensure my website is converting before sending lots of traffic to it. That way your results will be dramatically improved when traffic is created.
The sad truth is many business owners believe traffic is everything on the internet. But it’s not their fault… there are experts at every corner promising you more website visitors and riches beyond your wildest dreams. Most don’t bother to mention that if your website can’t sell then all the traffic in the world is useless.
What your website is all about
My philosophy of website marketing is building a relationship with visitors when they arrive at your website. A huge part of this is the impression your website makes for your business. But more importantly you need to start building a relationship by collecting their contact details.
You can expect to sell about 1-2% of people the first time they visit your website. But if you bother to take the time to form a relationship with them then that figure will be a lot higher. You can compare it to the one-hit wonder band versus the band who makes consistently great albums.
Don’t fall into the social media trap
There are enough social media buzzwords being used but it’s critical to remember the goal. There are now many tools for communicating with potential prospects… and other useless ones as well. But in the end it’s all about building a relationship.
It doesn’t matter whether this relationship is built over email, or Twitter, or Facebook, or YouTube… or through mail, fax or phone. No matter what it’s still about the relationship and the value you provide. I believe you’re better to use a wide range of media to connect with your market.
Keep focused on your goal
There is no right answer… there is no great and powerful social media website that you can rely on for business. That’s like having a store but not getting a phone. Intelligent business owners realize a phone is a useful tool for their business and that’s the same with social media.
The moral of the story is to focus on building a relationship with visitors irrespective of the media. By building a relationship based on value your sales will increase dramatically. Because people buy from those they know and trust.
The next step
Take a look at your website and decide whether you’re building a relationship or just simply stating what you do. What valuable information are you offering? Do you collect contact details to send them more information?
Building a relationship isn’t hard… just imagine what you’d do if the person was right in front of you and go from your gut. The results can be amazing.
Because at the end of the day it’s all about standing out from the crowd.
Building Your Business Online

Marketing on the web involves a whole range of strategies, techniques, tools and competences that combine in different ways depending on the business model a certain business follows or is committed to. Some companies specialize in lead-based sales, others in affiliate marketing, while a lot try e-commerce or the selling of goods and services either directly to consumers or to other businesses. The business approach could therefore differ for every individual model for marketing on the web. This domain is in permanent motion, constantly reinventing itself and getting richer every day. Take a look at http://www.marketquake.net/google-sniper-google-sniper-review.
There are too few easy things about marketing on the web, and lots of entrepreneurs have learned it the hard way. Mistakes such as the effort of targeting wide demographic sectors are common, and they are the ruin of many companies. Very often this could be the end of a business if it is not strong enough to cope with a failure once in a while. If more businesses started using marketing strategies that rely on client behavior or interest, there would be less failure. For instance, if you sell bike accessories ads on cycling web sites would be a good form of reaching good prospects, because only web surfers with an interest in cycling, visit this kind of pages.
Another possibility for marketing on the web comes in the form of geo targeting. A business would thus develop locally because the nature of the occupation requires for geographical delimitation. A clear example would be that of an organic farm advertising on the Internet; you have all the interest to address the needs of the neighboring community, because they make the market for your products. At present, there are all sorts of softwares used for geolocation and they have become tools for various strategies of marketing on the web. It is a completely personal decision to invest in such technology or not. See more at Google Sniper.
Marketing on the web gets easier once you understand the working principles of the world wide web. The main advantage of online promotions is that they involve much lower costs and the possibility to reach a wider audience that searches for the kind of products or services that you offer. Moreover, positive results become immediately obvious when you implement the right strategies. The reward is huge if you manage to rise from scratch and get to earn a living only by working online, but the way to such independence is paved with lots of marketing campaigns, good planning and intuition. The Five Best Article Marketing Websites

Are you interested in web promotion and web marketing? Have you discovered the power of article marketing yet? Would you like to increase the amount of visitors to your website? Are you eager to make yourself a whole heap of cash from your website. Now I am not sure how you have answered these questions, however I would have answered yes to all of them. Taking my last eight years of experience, I truly believe that writing articles is one of the best, if not the best forms of promoting a website and in this article I am going to write about what in my opinion are the best five article marketing websites to submit your articles to.
I have been writing articles for eighteen months and I must say that I aim to continue writing more articles as a way of promoting my own websites for many more years to come. I have had great success from it and whats more it is free. I would strongly advise any person who is looking to gain more traffic to their sites to commence writing articles asap. As a rule I attempt or have a goal to write an average of one article per day. On certain days when I have more time or when I am in the mood for it, I write a lot more than just one, my record thus far has been seven in one day.
In every day life I am involved with various products including DVD replication and a service offering cheap calls.
I would have to say that without a shadow of a doubt that Ezinearticles is the best article marketing directory on the net. It is important to be clear about their guidelines when submitting to this site as they do not accept any old rubbish, which of course has to be a good thing.
I also submit to articlealley, articledashboard, goarticles and ideamarketers.
I used to also submit my articles to searchwarp but they have had a bit of a disaster and they now use the no follow rule on all links in the author bio.
One other article directory which I have heard is very good is buzzle. I have yet to submit to this site but am likely to in the near future.
Using Humor To Make Your Message Go Viral

A study by Sharpe Partners, an interactive marketing agency, revealed that 89% of adult Internet users in America share content with others via e-mail. This is excellent news for those companies who use self-propelling “word-of-mouse” e-mail techniques to sell their products.
The study generated some interesting results regarding the type of content that is most often forwarded, as well. The most popular content is humorous material.
The second most popular category is news, followed by healthcare and medical information, religious and spiritual material, games, business and personal finance information and sports/hobbies… in that order. So it is easy to see that humor is the best content for your viral e-mail campaign.
Cartoons, jokes and funny video clips are among the things that can be added to an e-mail to insure that it will go viral. People will want to pass along something that makes them laugh.
They are a lot more likely to hit the forward button and send your email to their friends and relatives if it is an “advertainment” rather than an advertisement.
Not along ago, about 35 million people got an e-mail containing a picture taken in Disneyland. It took a minute to see it but there was Donald Duck lying prone in front of the famous Cinderella Castle. The title of the picture was “Bird Flu has hit Disneyland”. It was a viral e-mail advertising Disneyland and used the edgy strategy of making light of what’s serious… and it works.
I’d guess that most people who own a computer have seen that picture… and thus the advertisement for Disneyland. The bird flu epidemic is newsworthy and has the potential to attract an enormous amount of attention to any brand that might, for whatever reason, associate itself with it.
Remember that people are much more likely to share a joke or a funny picture than anything else so you would be well advised to include humor in your e-mail campaign.

Do You Have A Web Marketing Strategy, or are just flying blind?
August 15, 2009 by BUZZ Team

You may have this many times before, but without traffic to your website, you may as well not have a website at all. You may also have heard this, but it still rings true and that is that by just creating a website and submitting it to the search engines like Google, does not mean it will show up well in the search engine results pages (SERP’s).
The fact is that no matter what business you are in, there is likely 500,000 to a million or more websites competing with yours for the same keywords. In order to stand out from them and actually get a good ranking in the SERP’s, you need a proper web marketing strategy.
Such a strategy is best handled by the experts, but if you don’t intend investing in the services of a web marketing firm, you can at least improve your chances of showing up in the SERP’s, by following some simple strategies, which will be summarised below:
Proper Website Design:
Your success stats with proper website design. During this phase of your web marketing strategy, you must already make your website as search engine friendly as possible. This means that each page must have a title, containing the keywords and the name of the website. Keep the title short, to make it look generic and not like you forced the keywords into it.
Each page should have its own, relevant title and keywords. Be sure to include the keywords you are focussing on in the text of each page, but once again, make them generic and as part of your text. The best way to write for search engines, is to write for customers, therefore keep it natural.
Make sure that all your pages are linked with proper text links. Website crawlers cannot read pictures (unless you place alternative text to name the picture and you should always, also do this) and if all your links to your other pages are picture buttons with no normal link text, the crawlers will not be able to crawl from one page to the next and so crawl the whole website.
A simple trick is to create your good looking buttons, but just to include text links to all your pages at the bottom of each page of your website. This will make it easy for the spiders to crawl.
Content Pages:
Search Engines love big websites. This may seem stupid, but it is true. The more pages a website has that contain topical written text, the more important or valuable the search engines consider a website to be and will increase its rankings accordingly.
Not all websites are academic websites though and you may not have that much content to put into your website. A simple way to overcome this is to write articles. If you have a website, you are probably knowledgeable about the topic of your website, so start writing articles about it.
The more, the better, just make sure that you don’t repeat articles and try to keep the content as differently as possible. Create a different page for each article and an index page that contains links to each and every article. This will once again enable the spiders to crawl to all your articles.
Links:
A very important thing for search engines is links. By links I mean links back to your website from other websites. The best kind of links are one way links, in other words site A links back to your website, but your website doesn’t link back to site A.
What it also important is that the site that links back to yours, should be of a topic similar to yours, as those links enjoy higher esteem.
Link building is difficult and there are various ways to get links. One is buying them, where you go to a site that specializes in links (link farms) and actually buy your links. The search engines have caught on to many of these sites and don’t value their links that much anymore.
Another way is to publish the articles you wrote to article directories. Article directories list articles that are relevant to a topic in their directories. Many of them allow a short bio, which can include a link back to your website.
The problem with these directories is that you often have to publish your articles one at a time, because of all the editorial requirements.
Another way to get links is to submit your articles to blogs. This works very well is you use a system like My Article Network. There you write the article once and it is submitted to all the relevant blogs that will accept the article. This is way to build links to your website very quickly.
One very important thing to remember with your link building is to make sure that you use the correct anchor text. So, for example, if you have a website that specializes in motor parts and site is called all4cars.com, it will not be worth your while to use your website address as the anchor text for your links.
The reason behind this is that unless you are a well-known commercial entity, people looking for a website about car parts, will more likely type car parts in as a search phrase in the search engines, than all4cars.
You want your website to be listed when a search related to the topic of your site is done. So even though your link will be to all4cars.com, the text you will most likely use is car parts.
Fresh Content:
Search engines love fresh content and they rank sites that are frequently updated better than those that are not. Articles are one way to keep your content fresh, but blogging is yet another way. Get yourself a blog and add it to the URL of your website.
To get regular fresh content to your blog, you can once again make use of My Article Network. The service not only allows you to post to other blogs, but also allow other bloggers to post to your blog. In so doing, you are assured of regular fresh content to your blog. Don’t worry, you have the option to either accept or reject articles and so you don’t have to fear that your blog will be riddled with junk articles.
Keyword Research:
This really ties in with your anchor text, but perhaps it needs some further explanation. Let’s take the example of all4cars.com that I used above. If this website deals in car parts then they would be looking for keywords related to that topic. A simple keyword search might reveal that there are 40,000 searches per month for the phrase ‘car parts’. A simple Google search might reveal that there are 1,250,000 search results for that phrase.
This means that there is a lot of competition for these keywords, which in turn means that you will have to work very hard to get good search engine rankings for that phrase. For this reason it might not be the best keywords to use. Say for example that our website sells only Honda parts. A simple keyword search might reveal that there are only 12,500 searches for that phrase per month, but also that there are only 250,000 search results for that term.
This already improves your odds significantly and you have the ability to rank well for those keywords. You could also find that there might be different phrases, like ‘car parts Howard County’ that could get a good number of searches per month, but much less competition than the main keywords (please note that all of the figures above are hypothetical). It would be even easier for you to rank well for these keywords.
Simply going for generic search terms, with lots of competition is really a bad idea. Instead, try to define your niche and focus on terms like that. While there may be fewer people searching with those terms, your site will actually perform well in the search engines and the added advantage is that you will get more targeted traffic, meaning that you will only attract people looking for car parts in Howard County (which is what you want anyway!)
These few golden rules will help any DIY web designer to get the most out of their websites. These are simple tips that if followed consistently will significantly improve your rankings in the search engine wars.
I will not lie to you, it does take a lot of time and effort and in the end you may want to invest in the services of a professional web marketing service that will be able to devise, implement and manage such a strategy for you.

UVA To Host Major Web Design Conference
August 2, 2009 by BUZZ Team

July 6, 2009 — EdUI 2009, a conference to be held Sept. 21-22 at the University of Virginia, will focus on Web design, usability and accessibility – designing Web sites so users of all abilities can effectively access online information and services.
The conference will bring together experts and innovators recognized in the fields of user interface design, usability research, accessibility, web programming, social media and instructional technology and will provide workshops and presentations as well as opportunities for participants and attendees to network.
The conference is geared to Web professionals in higher education as well as designers, developers, webmasters, managers and professionals interested in interactive design involved in creating Web sites for any institution or industry.
“The higher education market is starved for this kind of information,” John Loy said.
Loy, a U.Va. Library Web designer and information architect, began laying the groundwork for the conference after meeting EdUI 2009 keynote speaker Jared Spool at a conference in Seattle last year. Since then, he and a team of University and regional Web community members have worked to bring the conference to fruition.
“We are embracing a community model for planning this. Many in the IT and communications field are involved,” said Trey Mitchell, webmaster for the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
Susan Teague Rector, Web application manager at Virginia Commonwealth University and a member of the planning team, is excited about the conference. “It’s a great opportunity to hear leaders in the Web community speak about what’s next on the horizon in terms of user experience, usability and Web design.”
Online learning management is also an area that will be covered during the conference. There is continuing demand for professors to adopt online tools to reach their students, Mitchell said. “Students live their lives online and teachers need to be aware of trends and student expectations.”
The team has lined up a group of speakers that are some of the “most sought-after experts in the web industry,” Loy said.
“These are the ‘rock stars’ of the Web design world,” Mitchell said.
The conference keynote speaker is Spool, a pioneer in Web site usability and founder of User Interface Engineering, a usability research organization. Spool teaches at the Tufts University Gordon Institute and is the author of “Web Usability: A Designer’s Guide.”
Other featured speakers are:
• Michael Wesch, assistant professor of cultural anthropology and digital ethnography at Kansas State University, a leader in exploring the impact of social media and digital technology on society and culture. His videos have been translated into more than 15 languages and cover technology, education, information and culture. His most popular videos, “The Machine is Using Us” and “A Vision of Students Today” are available on YouTube. He has been dubbed “the explainer” by Wired magazine and an “Emerging Explorer” by National Geographic, and has received numerous awards for his work, including a Wired magazine Rave Award and the John Culkin Award for Outstanding Praxis in Media Ecology. Wesch is a graduate of U.Va.’s College of Arts & Sciences with a major in anthropology.
• Molly Holzschlag, an advocate for Web standards. A lecturer and author, she has written more than 30 books, including “The Zen of CSS Design,” which she co-authored with Dave Shea.
• Dana Chisnell, a usability research consultant who focuses on user interface design and technical communications surrounding design issues in software, hardware, Web sites, online services, games and other applications. The founder of UsabilityWorks, Chisnell has worked with Yahoo!, Intuit, AARP, Wells Fargo, E*TRADE, Sun Microsystems and others to improve the design of their products and services. She is considered by many to be an expert in usability issues for older adults and presenting information in “plain language” that makes sense to most users, and issues related to ballot design and voting accessibility.
• Dan Rubin, the founder and principal of WebGraph and a leader in Web standards and usability. He is a contributing author of “Cascading Style Sheets: Separating Content from Presentation,” a technical reviewer for “Beginning CSS Web Development,” “The Art & Science of CSS” and “Sexy Web Design.” He is the coauthor of “Pro CSS Techniques” and “Web Standards Creativity.”
• Derek Featherstone, founder of Further Ahead, a Web development and consulting company, and a Web accessibility technical trainer and author. He consults to government agencies, educational institutions and companies in the private sector. He is lead of the Accessibility Task Force of the Web Standards Project and a member of the DOM Scripting Task Force.
“To interact with this caliber of speakers for professional development, one would need to attend a conference in a major city like Seattle or New York,” Mitchell said.
Fees for the conference are $500 for the public and $425 for U.Va. employees, who can defray the cost by using the employee educational benefit. Registration and information is available at www.eduiconf.org.
“At a time when staffs and budgets are cut back, it is a tremendous opportunity for those at U.Va. to attend this conference,” U.Va. webmaster Nancy Tramontin said. Everyone in her office plans to attend. “Under normal circumstances, staff might pay thousands of dollars to travel and attend a conference with these speakers. We are grateful to this opportunity.”
The conference is organized by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and U.Va. in partnership with User Interface Engineering.

“How did you hear about my business?”
“What are the Things You Enjoyed about Doing Business With Us?”
“What are the things we Could Improve on?”
“Would you recommend us to someone else?”
Then spend some time gathering email addresses from your email client/ inbox, and draft a polite email asking people to visit the survey online. What internet marketing business should I start?
May 23, 2009 by BUZZ Team
Here is a question I got a few days ago from one of my friends:
“What sort of internet marketing business should I pursue? There’s so many different ways to make money online, and every one of them is supposedly the ‘best’. What do you think is really the best?”
That’s a great question. And I wish there was an easy answer…
But the truth is, there is no “best” internet marketing business to go into. All of them have their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
You just have to find the right one for you–and that’s the key to winning in internet marketing.
Look to where your strengths are and build a online business around those. Focus on the things that you love most and feel strongly about and find a way to profit from them.
For instance, I love business. I love all aspects of it–the strategy, the marketing, the tactics–every bit of it.
Plus, I have a successful track record of launching and running many new businesses. So I know that I have a core strength there.
Besides, I’m constantly searching for new and better ways to evolve my online marketing business. So when it came to developing an web business model, I went with the one thing I could dominate and go after with a passion–helping others to do the same.
Obviously, it was the right choice. I get to do what I enjoy and still have the freedom and autonomy to spend more time with my family and friends.
So notice those same strengths and passions in yourself and seek out ways to structure a internet marketing business around them. One of the easiest ways to do this is by starting a membership program.
Each month, you can charge your clients for access to content on a certain theme. This model has MONSTROUS potential because you build something once, then get paid again and again with marginal maintenance.
Practically every successful guru I know has a membership program of some sort. In fact, my former student, Mike Filsaime, recently added another six-figures to his monthly income with a specific approach that drew in just over 11,000 new optins.
Now, I don’t know if the membership model is right for you. You’ve got to find that out for yourself.
But I do think it’s worth looking at.
If this seems like something you’d like to follow up on further, Your best bet is to find out which business is most logical for you.
